Isis Patience Spell
Your Name: Autumn Raiwvynn
Date Created: April 3, 2008
Purpose of Spell: This spell is written for those who have
a desire to have more patience in their life and to be able to
put aside the need for instant gratification.
You will need:
Pale Pink Candle
1 or more pieces of Sodalite
Symbol of Isis (statue, carnelian, turquoise, scarab, knot of Isis etc.)
Isis Oil (recipe below)
Cinnamon incense
Paper and pencil
Cauldron or fire proof bowl
Matches
Snuffer
Date/Day/Moon Phase to be performed: Best performed on a Saturday during a waning moon. Saturday is a good day for dealing with things that pertain to time issues. Patience deals a lot with time and our reaction to it. As well Saturday is good for limitations and boundaries which affect us and can influence our ability to be patient.
How many days it is to be preformed: This as a one day spell but it could be repeated as necessary.
Color candle(s) needed and why: A pale pink candle because reminds me of waiting. Like the time waiting for a baby, or the coming of spring... or the pink that is just barely pink and waiting to become full pink. Pale greens, purples and yellows could be appropriate as well.
Appropriate oils/herbs/stones used and why: I picked a piece of Sodalite to place in the candle holder or beside the candle as it is stone that is used to draw wisdom. We need wisdom to know when and how patience is needed and how it benefits us. I chose an Isis oil that I like to help draw the energy of the Goddess to the spell. I did not chose any herbs but chose a cinnamon incense because it raises positive vibrations and adds power to spells that it is used in.
Appropriate deity(ies) to be called: I decided on Isis for this one. In the story of her and Orsis she shows an extreme amount of patience (and tenacity) when she is looking for the parts of his body. She patiently keeps looking until she finds what she is looking for. This is why I though she would be ideal to call upon.
Appropriate carvings: I decided to carve my name in Theban alphabet on the candle.

Pre-Spell Activities: Set up your altar. If you wish to do a purification bath or some other type of preparation. Anoint your pink candle with the Isis oil. Start from the middle of the candle and spread the oil out to the ends of the candle.
The Spell:
If you wish to cast a circle please do so according to your tradition and then settle yourself comfortably before your altar.
- Take a few deep breaths and center yourself. Feel yourself settle and connect yourself with your surroundings.
- When you are feeling comfortable think about the things that often make you impatient and frustrated.
- Take the paper and pencil and write down these things. Fold the paper and place it under the pink candle.
- Focus your attention on the Isis symbol and ask her to add her blessing to your work saying:
Isis, Goddess of devotion and love
You who searched far and wide
To find the remains of Your beloved Orisis
You who searched and found
You who faced time and obsticles
Yet patiently continued on
Until the goal was achieved
I ask Your blessing and power
As I seek patience in my life
- Take the Sodalite in your hand and say:
I ask for wisdom to know my way
To hold myself in check when frustration touches my day
I ask for wisdom to wait and stay
When what I want doesn't come today
- Light the pink candle and say:
Time passes and the world changes
Change happens, movement happens, growth happens
Help me to wait and work tenaciously
Help me to put aside instant gratification
May I have the patience of the fire
that burns away the wood and fuel warming the air
May I have the patience of the earth
that shakes and shudders changing the earths shape
May I have the patience of the wind
that blows away the morning mists clearing the air
May I have the patience of the water
that slowly wears away the stone reshaping the path
- Take up the paper with the things that make you impatient and frustrated and rip the paper into four.
- Light the paper in the candle and burn them in the cauldron.
- Watch them as they burn and see your frustrations and impatience going up in smoke and far from you.
- Snuff out the candle and say:
I walk patiently through the world
Knowing my way and holding to my path
I have the patience of the fire, earth, wind, and water
And take courage and strength from the example of Isis
- If you cast a circle you can release it now and go out into the world with a greater understanding of what triggers your impatience and the wisdom and strength to walk patiently through the trials and joys of life.
Post-Spell Activities (such as disposal of materials): Take the ashes of your impatience and frustrate triggers and burry them or toss them to the wind. Keep the candle and when you are feeling frustrated or impatient light it and remind yourself of the patience of Isis and that things take time to achieve or gain.
